Fighter

Ryland keeps amazing us with his strength, will power and determination to get better.  The docs and nurses keep telling us he is about 24 hours ahead of schedule on his recovery from most babies who had similar surgery.

This morning marked another round of improvements, as the doctors removed his pacemaker wires and transthoracic IV.  He is almost tube and IV free at this point, which means he can start wearing all of his adorable clothes again very soon!!

I can't wait to see him in his "My Aunt Beffie Rocks" shirt and his cute little hats.

We anticipate that Ryland may be able to move to a step-down, regular room in the next few days, a huge step in the right direction toward coming home!

They told us he could be in the hospital for a month or so.  I think baby Superman may exceed all expectations and make it back to the 252 sooner than we could have hoped.

So, I leave you with this.  Anytime you  are facing something that hurts, seems too big or impossible to handle, or is just plain scary, think of baby Ryland and the mighty battle he has fought and continues to fight.

A little baby's story may be just what you need to remember the great things anyone with a loving family, sheer will to live and some faith sprinkled in can accomplish!
